【摘要】:Insomesituations,penetrationthroughasphalt-basedroofingorwaterproofingmaterialsbyfastenersisarequiredpartofthematerialinstallationprocessoroccursduringinstallationofothersystemcomponents.Whenfastenerspenetratethematerialasapurposefulandplannedpartoftheconstructionprocess,itisreasonabletoexpectthatmaterialsdesignedtolimitmigrationofliquidwaterattheinterfacebetweenthepenetratingfastenerandthematerialwilldoso.Thisqualitativetestmethodprovidesameanstoevaluatetheabilityofamaterialtolimitwatermigrationatfastenerpenetrationswhentestedunderdefinedconditions.1.1Thisqualitativetestmethoddeterminesthecapabilityofasphalt-basedroofingorwaterproofingmaterialtosealaroundafastenerthatpenetratesthematerialandpreventtransmissionofliquidwaterthroughthematerialatthepenetrationunderdefinedconditions.1.2ThistestmethodisprovidedforadoptionbyASTMorotherconsensus-basedroofingandwaterproofingproductspecificationsasastandardizedmeanstoevaluatecapabilitytosealaroundafastener.Performanceofthistestmethodaftersubjectingtheproducttoconditioningintendedtosimulateenvironmentalstressesandstrainsisnotprohibited.1.3Thetextofthistestmethodreferencesnotesandfootnoteswhichprovideexplanatorymaterial.Thesenotesandfootnotes(excludingthoseintablesandfigures)shallnotbeconsideredasrequirementsofthestandard.1.4ThevaluesstatedineitherSIunitsorinch-poundunitsaretoberegardedseparatelyasstandard.Thevaluesstatedineachsystemmaynotbeexactequivalents;therefore,eachsystemshallbeusedindependentlyoftheother.Combiningvaluesfromthetwosystemsmayresultinnon-conformancewiththestandard.1.5Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
