【摘要】:Thistestmethodsimulatesthehydrostaticloadingconditionswhichareoftenpresentinactualsandwichstructures,suchasmarinehulls.Thistestmethodcanbeusedtocomparethetwo-dimensionalflexuralstiffnessofasandwichcompositemadewithdifferentcombinationsofmaterialsorwithdifferentfabricationprocesses.Sinceitisbasedondistributedloadingratherthanconcentratedloading,itmayalsoprovidemorerealisticinformationonthefailuremechanismsofsandwichstructuresloadedinasimilarmanner.Testdatashouldbeusefulfordesignandengineering,materialspecification,qualityassurance,andprocessdevelopment.Inaddition,datafromthistestmethodwouldbeusefulinrefiningpredictivemathematicalmodelsorcomputercodeforuseasstructuraldesigntools.Propertiesthatmaybeobtainedfromthistestmethodinclude:5.1.1Panelsurfacedeflectionatload,5.1.2Panelface-sheetstrainatload,5.1.3Panelbendingstiffness,5.1.4Panelshearstiffness,5.1.5Panelstrength,and5.1.6Panelfailuremodes.1.1Thistestmethoddeterminesthetwo-dimensionalflexuralpropertiesofsandwichcompositeplatessubjectedtoadistributedload.Thetestfixtureusesarelativelylargesquarepanelsamplewhichissimplysupportedallaroundandhasthedistributedloadprovidedbyawater-filledbladder.ThistypeofloadingdiffersfromtheprocedureofTestMethodC393,whereconcentratedloadsinduceone-dimensional,simplebendinginbeamspecimens.1.2Thistestmethodisapplicabletocompositestructuresofthesandwichtypewhichinvolvearelativelythicklayerofcorematerialbondedonbothfaceswithanadhesivetothin-facesheetscomposedofadenser,higher-modulusmaterial,typically,apolymermatrixreinforcedwithhigh-modulusfibers.1.3ThevaluesstatedineitherSIunitsorinch-poundunitsaretoberegardedseparatelyasstandard.Withinthetexttheinch-poundunitsareshowninbrackets.Thevaluesstatedineachsystemarenotexactequivalents;therefore,eachsystemmustbeusedindependentlyoftheother.Combiningvaluesfromthetwosystemsmayresultinnonconformancewiththestandard.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
